Encompassing Egypt’s greatest highlights and a 3-day luxury Nile cruise, this adventure enhances a wide variety of included activities with the expertise of our CEOs, through whom you’ll gain a greater appreciation of the region’s history and archaeological finds. Discover the secrets of the Great Pyramids and explore the Valley of the Kings, then meet local people and share a traditional meal. A combination of sleeper train, air-conditioned transport and domestic flights will get you to the sights—and your comfortable accommodations—quickly and conveniently. From ancient history to bustling modern Cairo, embark on an incredible journey to the very heart of Egypt.
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.
If you arrive early there are plenty of things to see and do in this amazing city. Visit the Saladin Citadel of Cairo one of the most popular attractions in the city, or to really get a feel for the place, get lost in the bazaars and join the locals for a coffee in a local cafe.
Embark on a guided tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Continue to the historic Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
We begin with one of the key highlights of any visit to Egypt, the Great Pyramids of Giza. While once located in remote desert, they now touch the suburbs of modern Cairo. Also visit the mysterious Sphinx, with its lion's body and man's face. In the afternoon we drive to Alexandria, where we will spend the next two evenings.
Spend the day exploring this ancient seaside city, including Pompey's Pillar, the catacombs, and the new Alexandria Library.
We have plenty of time to explore all the incredible sites this ancient city has to offer. Founded by Alexander the Great around 331BC, Egypt's only Mediterranean city is characterized by a distinctly European atmosphere and a refreshing sea breeze. Don't miss the chance to enjoy an optional seafood dinner at one of the city's many outdoor seaside restaurants this evening.
Head back to Cairo with a tour inside the monasteries of Wadi Natrun en route. Visit the Egyptian Museum with the option to see the mummy room before boarding our overnight sleeper train to Aswan.
Arrive early to Aswan and opt to explore the busy Aswan market. Later, take a scenic felucca ride on the Nile to a Nubian village and enjoy a home cooked dinner with locals.
Aswan has a distinctively African feel to it. Small enough to walk around and graced with the most beautiful setting on the Nile, the pace of life is slow and relaxing.
Late in the afternoon, board a local boat, known as a felucca, to take a trip along the Nile. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the river in this busy port city. Our final stop is on the largest of the Nile islands in this area to enjoy a traditional dinner at a local home.
Early in the morning, fly to the famed temples of Abu Simbel for a guided tour. Later, board our river cruise ship for the night. Opt to visit the Aswan high dam.
Spend 2 days floating down the Nile on a luxury river boat with guided tours of Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples en route. In between excursions, relax on the outside decks with a drink, watching the passing desert sands.
Following breakfast, we set sail. Before too long it is time for our first shore excursion, with a visit to Kom Ombo, a temple dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god. It still contains an ancient mummified crocodile.
Enjoy an excursion in Edfu, travelling by horse-drawn buggy to visit the very well preserved Temple of Horus.
Visit the Colossi of Memnon and enjoy guided tours of the Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut followed by lunch with a local family.
After checking in to our hotel, our day starts with a visit to the exciting ancient sites located on Luxor's West Bank and the famed Valley of the Kings. View key sites and opt to visit the the Tomb of Tutankhamun, whose treasures you saw at the Egyptian Museum. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional lunch in a local family home.
Enjoy an excursion to the magnificent temple of Karnak. In the afternoon, use free time to explore the Luxor Temple or museums.
Catch a flight back to Cairo and opt to visit the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, tour Coptic Cairo, or enjoy a dinner on a floating restaurant on the Nile.
Upon arrival in Cairo, the choice is yours. Opt to visit the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, legendary for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques, and more; or head out to Cairo's most ancient area, Coptic Cairo or perhaps relax by the hotel pool. An optional farewell dinner and show on one of Cairo's famous floating restaurants is also available.

What a wonderful trip! For our first time out of Canada, this was the way to go, the culture, history, & food blew our minds, we saw so much, we wish it could have been longer. Overall, the best experience we hadOverall Rating
Wonderful experience! When I read the other travellers reviews and didn't come across a single negative one I assumed it had been edited! It is simply the case that this is a perfect trip! Maged, our guide was fantastic! We saw so many sites you would never get to see on your own. He always made sure we were happy and suggested sites/activities for our free time, wonderful local sites we never would have found! I always felt safe and never felt alone travelling as a single. Our group got along very well together and so we were able to use our free time to explore. I highly recommend this trip. Egypt is a fascinating country!Overall Rating
We were very pleased with the tour overall and the quality of the trip that we received for the price that we paid. On the whole, everything was nicer (accommodations, transportation, etc.) than we had anticipated. We feel like we got a great deal! We always felt very safe and secure. Also, our tour guide was fantastic and really made the trip for us. We rank our trip as a 10 out of 10 and are currently recommending G Adventures to all of our friends. We will not hesitate to book another tour with G Adventures in the future.Overall Rating

Everything went out as expected and better. Egypt is such an amazing country and the people are very friendly and always wanting to help. I enjoyed very much trying new flavors and visiting it's incredible temples that shows thousands of years of history. Our tour leader made an outstanding job, he was very professional and made the experience even better!Overall Rating
"Egypt Explorer" was the perfect introduction to Egypt, and all the beautiful people. I was concerned about our safely as I was traveling with my daughter and trying to listen to everyones warnings about two females traveling to Egypt alone. With our G Adventures tour guide I always felt very safe and was never concerned. We learned about some amazing history, saw some incredible sites and enjoyed some very hospitable people.Overall Rating
My trip was incredible! There were only 4 people on the tour, but I think that this was positive, as we received a much more personal approach, vs. having 12-15 people in the group.Overall Rating
Excellent tour leader. Well organized. Flexibility within the program to account for unexpected changes/delays and desires of the group. Great travelmates. Excellent sites. Awesome trip.Overall Rating
