Get your boots on as we head down to Austin. Known for its laid back vibe, delicious BBQ & hip music scene we have two days to explore this vibrant city.
With a full day to get Texan, go about your ways like a true local. What's on offer you cry? More like what's not! Get out on two wheel explore, or grab a kayak & get out on Lady Bird Lake, a spot which looks as lovely as its name. No trip would be complete without shopping for cowboy boots on South Congress, snapping photos at one of Austin's famous murals or chilling Barton Springs pool. Known for music & food we'll experience a the food truck revolution and Munch our way through the favs - think BBQ, tacos, pizza and for your sweet tooth cupcakes! And it goes without saying that music is on the cards tonight, so we'll head to one of our fave local spots, Sixth St, to take in the live vibes and toe tapping. Let's do this!
After keeping “Austin Weird” we change scenes as we make the short drive to San Antonio, home of the Alamo. A blend of Spanish, Mexican & American culture San Antonio is full of history. On arrival join us for a walking tour taking in Market Square, the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico, then on to San Fernando Cathedral & the Alamo. This afternoon stroll along the Riverwalk lined with shops & restaurants; grab a bite & a brew & chill out.
Yes, Houston we are comin' in hot! This afternoon we take to the city to see what else is on offer. Don't be fooled, Houston may be the biggest city in Texas but you still experience the quintessential Texas honky-tonk complete with cowboy hats & oversize belt buckles. Yee ha! Hotel
Leave the boots behind as we scoot on over to New Orleans. Let the good times roll as we take you sightseeing through the stunning French influenced city, & the birthplace of jazz music.
With a full day to yourself, it's time to get fully immersed in everything New Orleans. Start out at Cafe Du Monde for a tasty beignet, and pick up some treasures at the French Market if you're feeling like dropping some dollar. This diverse city has so much going on; visit the Garden District, spend a few hours in the soul kitchens and jazz clubs of the French Quarter or even hang out in Jackson Square with the musicians, artists and fortune tellers. There's a cooking school on offer for those looking to fine-tune (or learn) their Gumbo, jambalaya and creole recipes, or for those keen to see the bayou why not jump on an airboat cruise, and even have a go at holding a baby gator. Back in the city, the Mardi Gras Museum could be calling, most likely tempting you to come back to the city and experience the event first hand.
You've let the good times roll (or Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler, as the motto goes). It's time to gather your party beads and empty your hurricane cups, because we're veering north today. If Jackson was cool enough for Johnny Cash to sing about, then it's sure as hell cool enough for us. We'll drop in to see if we can pick up on some of that Delta blues inspiration before continuing on to Memphis. It's no wonder Memphis, Tennessee, pulls so many pilgrims - not only is it the home of blues and the birthplace of Rock n Roll it's also the home of barbecued meat BUT we are digging deeper tonight and going for Soul food! Now that's a winning combo. Later, lose yourself to dance on a group night out on Beale Street, where Blues music was first birthed among its juke joints and honky tonks.
Today we pay homage to Elvis, the late and great King of Rock & Roll. We'll visit and tour his former home, Graceland, where you will get up close and personal with his fabulously flamboyant jumpsuits and many gold records. The afternoon is then yours to do with Memphis what you will - we recommend a visit to Sun Studios where many of the greats have recorded albums over the years.
Pull those boots out one more time – we’re on to Nashville, “Music City U.S.A.” Experience this city up-close & personal with a sightseeing tour of Nashville’s landmarks, including the Parthenon, Ryman Auditorium & the homes of famous country-western music performers & the recording studios of Music Row. Tonight, join us for a southern meal & Music City Roots!
With a full day here, you better make the most of every minute to explore. With music in the streets you'll be feeling the energy left, right and centre. Since the day is free, why not join us for an insiders tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and opt in to visit Music Row with a guided tour of famous RCA Studio B. Tonight, we'll have a down home Southern meal - complete with fried chicken, mac n cheese, and buttermilk biscuits. No trip would be complete without it! We can't leave Nashville without getting into the live scene, so grab your dancing shoes for a night out on the town to experience what Nashville has to offer with the crew.
Today we head south to the capital of Georgia, Atlanta. On our way we’ll stop in Lynchburg, TN home to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. You’ll learn the art of whiskey making on a guided tour. View the sights on your orientation tour of Atlanta, including Peachtree Plaza, CNN Center, and Peachtree Street with its charming neighbourhoods before arriving at our hotel. Tonight, experience Atlanta’s vibrant nightlife.
