Day 1: Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai

We leave this morning to check out Chang Rai. It’s a small city with a very relaxing vibe and a beautiful surrounding area. Before arriving at our hotel we will stop at Wat Rong Kung, otherwise known as the White Temple. Now, this isn’t your run of the mill golden temple, however it’s definitely quirky, so make sure your cameras are charged and ready to go. After our temple visit we’ll grab some lunch then head to our hotel to check in. Tonight we head to the night markets for some great shopping, food and entertainment.

Day 2: Chiang Rai to Pakbeng (Laos)

It’s an early morning start to make the most out of the day ahead. We cross the border to Laos, and once our visas are stamped we begin our leisurely trip along the Mekong on our own private long boat. Read a book, take photos, or chill out and chat to your travel mates. On route we'll stop at a local village to get a true idea of how the locals live. We arrive in Pakbang for our overnight stay. Meet your local guide for a stroll around this small village and a visit to the very local markets, before meeting your Tour Leader for dinner and a few drinks. It's probably time to try the local tipple - Lao Lao (rice whiskey).

Day 3: Pakbeng to Luang Prabang

Back on the boat this morning! Today we’re off to the UNESCO world heritage site of Luang Prabang. We stop by Pak Ou caves to stretch the legs and capture a bit of the spectacular countryside. This evening after arrival we'll head up Phousi Hill for a spectacular sunset before dinner by the riverside.

Day 4: Luang Prabang

No boat today, but plenty of amazing things to do. In the morning you can catch the Buddhist monks peacefully strolling around collecting alms. You can head to the beautiful Kwang Si waterfalls for a refreshing swim, or check out the Living Land Rice Farm to see how the locals live and cultivate their land. Tonight after dinner we'll take you to some great rustic bars to chill out along the riverbank.

Day 5: Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng

Did someone say ‘party town’? Yes they did, but they should have also said ‘incredibly-beautiful-outdoor-adventure-town’. Vang Vieng is our destination and we arrive here in time for you to grab a bike or transfer to the blue Lagoon for a refreshing swim. This evening we'll check out the town, take some lovely sunset photos, before meeting up for dinner, and most definitely a bar crawl in the evening.

Day 6: Vang Vieng

A free day for some great adventures. There are so many outdoor activities in and around Vang Vieng you'll be spoilt for choice! Our optional day trip today is a must do! Get out on the water, clear the head of some cobwebs and kayak along the river for the day. With some great stop offs along the way, a bbq lunch by the riverside, this is the best way to spend your day in Vang Vieng!! This evening we'll head down to one of the river bars to watch the sun set over the spectacular karsts.

Day 7: Vang Vieng to Vientiane

On the way the capital we'll stop at the COPE centre and learn about the secret war. We'll then head into the city center for an orientation of the town with our local guide. Tonight watch (or join in with) the locals doing their riverside aerobics, check out the night markets, meet up for our final dinner and celebrate a great trip over a couple of Beer Laos.
