Day 1

We take the hassle out of arriving into Thailand by meeting you at the airport (BKK only) and helping you get checked in to your Guesthouse near Khao San Road (Green House, Soi Rambuttri).

Day 2

After a quick chat about your trip it will be time for you to experience some of the most famous sites of Bangkok including the Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun and the Giant Golden Reclining Buddha. Then later that evening you will head back to the Khao San road area for a few drinks with your new travel buddies.

Day 3

A fantastic day is ahead of you as you explore one of South East Asia’s largest markets. Search hard enough and you can find pretty much everything on earth here – as well as some fantastic food stalls and funky bars. Your guide will help you find your way around and see why this is not only one of the biggest markets around, but one of the best

Day 4

You’re going behind the scenes today at Wat Pho (home of the giant Reclining Buddha) to work with the children at the Temple school located the grounds of Wat Pho. Don’t worry, your guide will be on hand to guide you as you not only contribute to the day’s learning for the students but also get to learn about and see how a simple Thai school operates. A fascinating day all round and you won’t forget the enthusiasm of the students in a hurry.

Day 5

Time to leave the bright lights and big city and head to your ‘home’ for the next few days – Surin. Leaving in the morning, the trip takes between 6 and 7 hours (we usually travel by train but occasionally will use a coach) and once you’re out of the city sprawl you start to see the rice paddies and that classic South East Asian scenery. On arrival you’ll check in at your hotel and your guide will make sure you know all the best places to eat and enjoy the time ahead.

Day 6-9

For the next couple of days you’ll be working in a rural Thai school / day care centre helping encourage English language development and conversation. We work very closely with the schools to ensure that you know what they would like you to cover and this is a fantastic opportunity to play a small but important part of the students language development – plus you’ll meet some of the most enthusiastic students you’ve ever come across.
A different sort of help to the community as you roll up your sleeves and put your muscles to work, helping with the on-going development of schools and day care centres in the rural areas around Surin town. As with all elements of the trip your guide and our local team will be on hand to ensure you know what you’re doing, and that you’re getting it right! The exact work each group does is determined by the schools and community so does change – however, the most common activity is the restoration / development of small playing areas for children, something that leaves an immediate and positive impact.
Please be advised that you need to present an up to date Background / Police Check before arrival in order to participate in this volunteering project!

Day 10

A free day to catch your breath, catch up on some sleep, rest or explore Surin town. The town has a fantastic market, some very interesting temples and, if the weather is good, there’s a hotel not too far away that lets visitors use the pool for a small fee – go on, you’ve earned a day to chill out.

Day 11-14

For the next 4 days and 3 nights you will live, work and play alongside a real elephant community on the rural outskirts of Surin. You’ll get to bathe the elephants, learn how to cut bamboo as a sustainable food supply and feed them, and help out in any other elephant related jobs. In return you’ll be treated to traditional Thai food from the village for the duration of your stay.
If you are an adventurous (or aquatic) kind of person, then you can even go kayaking on the river.
On day 14 you will transfer back to Surin town via a local traditional Silk Weaving village.

Day 15

A day of travelling as you head South of Surin town to the Cambodian border and then on to our destination of Siem Reap. We should arrive in Siem Reap by mid-afternoon giving you some time to explore and get a feel for this lively town.
NOTE: Your visa to Cambodia is not included in the fees for the trip

Day 16

One of the real highlights of your trip as you spend the day exploring Angkor Wat by bicycle. Of course you could spend weeks exploring the site, but you’ll cover the highlights as well as some of the less busy parts of the complex and learn about this fascinating part of the world.
NOTE: The cost of the entry permit into Angkor Wat is not included in the trip

Day 17

And you’re off again – back to Surin. The journey is a great opportunity to catch up on some sleep after a hectic evening enjoying the lively nightlife of Siem Reap and the cunningly named ‘Pub Street!”

Day 18

After one last evening in Surin you’re heading off to the next phase of your adventure. We take a short trip (3-4 hours) to Pak Chong, which is our jumping off point for our day of waterfalls, wildlife and walking tomorrow.

Day 19

Ever seen The Beach? Remember the waterfall they jump off? Well, if was actually nowhere near a beach – in fact it’s here, in the heart of Thailand’s oldest National Park, Khao Yai! Today you’ll spend the day exploring the park with a local guide seeing stunning forest, amazing wildlife (hopefully!) and of course making sure you get that shot of ‘the’ waterfall. A fantastic day all round

Day 20

We head back to Bangkok today, arriving by mid-afternoon in time for you to settle in, freshen up and hit the bright lights of Khao San – or why not be more adventurous and explore the nearby area of Phra Arthit which is full of laid back bars, great music and even better food. 5 mins walk and a world away of the crowds of Khao San Road.
