Seward is home to the Harding Icefield, one of the largest in the USA. Your included scenic bus pass will help you explore, but the Denali rangers encourage visitors to get off the beaten track, and you'll soon feel like a real explorer as you head out into this vast wilderness. Daylight is well and truly on your side in Alaska as summer puts in so many overtime hours this far north, giving you more time to explore this wild wonderland. Try and spot the Alaskan ‘Big Five’: caribou, wolves, Dall Sheep, moose and Grizzly Bear, as you hike in the shadows of Mount Denali, which is usually translated as 'The Great One'. It's North America's highest mountain, standing at an incredible 6,190m (20,320 ft)! Untended trails, unpaved roads and unending views are exactly what you signed up for! Wilderness camping amongst this scenery is a real highlight.
